As I said in a previous post I had the immense pleasure of being a second shooter for the engagement session and wedding of Amy and Robert. The primary shooter was Jeff Mitchel of J. Mitchel Photography. Jeff is from Long Island, NY and is a very successful businessman and photographer. With a background in architectural photography, Jeff brings a unique perspective to the wedding and portrait arts. I was really excited to be able to help out with the shooting, but mostly I was looking forward to learning some new things from Jeff.
I always enjoy second shooting. It gives me the opportunity to try new things without the pressure of being responsible for getting “all the shots.” This post contains some of my shots from the wedding day. The venue was a huge house in the Jersey Village area, Northwest of Houston. Amy and Robert rented the house for their wedding weekend and I would say that it was well worth the investment.
Here are a few of my favorites from the Sunday wedding.
The message on the bottom of Amy’s shoes was classic.
Of course, Amy was also exquisite!
There were some great musicians playing before, during, and after the wedding.
Lets not forget the rings.
The ceremony was beautiful. I love the reflection on the pool in this shot.
Bride and groom enjoy a private moment while the guests look on.
I loved how Amy and Robert simply enjoyed their day.
Hostess and “Jr bridesmaid” with the bride.
I caught this young lady at the end of the festivities.
Finally, just a little detail shot.
All in all I had a blast being Jeff’s backup shooter during Amy and Robert’s wedding. I learned a few things from Jeff that will only improve what I can offer future clients. Thanks Jeff for letting me run with things.
